Green Tip of the Week
Check out our Fluency!
We work on fluency by reading poems during morning meeting every other week. When we talk about fluency, we are talking about E.A.R.S. Expression is how our voice changes in pitch as we read. Accuracy is reading the words correctly. Rate is how fast we read (NOT too fast, NOT too slow), and Smoothness has to do with our phrasing (only stopping at punctuation - commas, end marks).
With this poem, we focused on the phrasing. We wanted to be sure we sounded smooth as we read (sang). Click on the poem title to listen to us!
